The quick weight changes have cut down my workout time significantly compared to when I was using spinlock adjustable dumbbells. This doesn't bother me but is noticeable. The Sport 9.0 model does feel slightly unbalanced on some exercises (curls and laterals) because of the position of the adder weights at the bottom of the dumbbell. If it bothers you, you can glue rubber to the ends to dampen the noise. The adder weights make a clinking sound when you do certain exercises. They might work on Powerblock models with straight handles instead of the contoured one of the Sport 9.0 model. I struggled to get the Versa Grip's strap around the handle properly due the caged natured of the dumbbell. The hook doesn't fit around the handle as the handle is too thick. The Sport 9.0 model doesn't work with certain grip aids. I have tested the 1kg, 1/2kg and 1/4kg PlateMates.Ģ. The magnets are more than strong enough to stick to the plates even when faced with friction from putting them on your knees and kicking them up to do DB bench presses. I have more than enough weight for my ageing bones to handle and nothing ever goes wrong with the weights. I use my flat bench and concentrate on compound movements. Powerblocks work fine with all donut shaped PlateMates. I have always felt that the fewer moving parts, the less likely something will go wrong and with this I pulled the trigger on the Stage 1 & 2 for the Power Block Sport 9.0. I found that some issues are not well reported.ġ. There are lots of Powerblock reviews in archived posts on this forum so I don't intend to post yet another one but hopefully add something new to the discussion.
